Who we are.
Kahu Labs is a cybersecurity company operated by Shokunin Technology Inc., a company registered in Delaware, USA. This policy explains what personal information we collect through kahulabs.com and our services, and how we handle it. Questions any time: hello@kahulabs.com.
What we collect.
Information you send us. When you contact us — by email or through the site — we receive what you choose to share, such as your name, work email, company, and message.
Customer account information. If your company uses BuildSecure, we hold the account details needed to provide the service, such as names, work emails, and roles of the people on your team.
Basic technical logs. Like nearly every website, our servers record standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. We use this to keep the site secure and working.
What we don't collect here. This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics scripts.
Data we encounter through security work.
When we perform authorized security assessments, we may encounter data belonging to the customer whose systems we are testing. That data is governed by the written engagement agreement with the customer: we treat it as confidential, access it only as needed to do the work, and handle and delete it as the agreement requires. It is never used for any other purpose.
How we use information.
To respond to you, to provide and operate BuildSecure and our services, to keep our own systems secure, and to meet legal obligations. That's the list.
What we never do.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Protecting data is our business; trading in it is not.
How we protect it.
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and strict access controls, and we apply the same security practices to our own systems that we recommend to customers. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, but protecting data is our profession, and we treat yours accordingly.
How long we keep it.
Only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law or by our agreement with a customer. When it's no longer needed, we delete it.
Your rights.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@kahulabs.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we honor them.
Where it's processed.
We are a US company and our team operates internationally, so information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we operate. Wherever it's processed, the protections in this policy apply.
Children.
Our website and services are for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy.
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be described plainly, not buried.
